It is subtitle, not caption.

Emily

I don't think you can learn much from the movies, watch doumentary  films instead.

If the translation is being done beforehand, we can call it subtitle. e.g. foreign movie...etc.
If the translation is showing out at the same phase, it is called captioning. e.g. real time news report...etc.

Subtitles are textual versions of the dialog in films and television programs, usually displayed at the bottom of the screen.

you check caption

dont think it too deep.
<---- yes, people also use close captioning in Canada. I have one before when I was in high school.

What are captions?

Captions are the visual representation of a video's soundtrack. They are created according to very specific style rules by captioners and caption companies, and are available on almost all television programs and television sets. Captions are mandated by the FCC and have been proven to not only help audiences that cannot hear their television, but also serve as a valuable tool for educators and people learning English as a second language.
